In 2015 it became necessary to refocus the David Suchet Appeal in order to raise around £1million towards a new tunnel under the Lichfield to Birmingham 'Cross-city' railway line.

Otherwise 25 years of successful restoration could be “stopped in it's tracks” and placed beyond reach.

In 2017 at the London Boat Show the Tunnel Vision Appeal was formally launched by David Suchet, now with a firm target date of early 2019. By this time £150,000 had already been raised.

By early 2020 nearly £600,000 had been raised. The road tunnel was  installed but the canal tunnel is on hold and fundraising will continue.

Following the success of the first David Suchet Appeal a number of donors said they would like to continue paying a regular amount to assist the Trust in continuing to go from strength to strength.

The Regular Giving Scheme was launched in November 2003. Supporters can choose whether to make a donation to the Land Fund or the general Restoration Fund.

To cover the costs of processing, which include Gift Aid and reporting to charities, there is a fee of 3.2% to MuchLoved and a 1.3% payment card fee. As a charity service, this is on a not-for-profit basis.
