On January 9th, the day of a tube strike, David Dixon, Peter.Buck and Bob Williams travelled to the London Boat Show to formally launch the David Suchet 'Tunnel Vision' appeal. Having left Lichfield at 6am, the L&H team reached ExCel at 11:30, just in time to be welcomed by the IWA team before David & Sheila Suchet arrived..
The target is to raise £1,000,000 by early 2019 to build a tunnel under the Lichfield to Birmingham (Cross-city) railway line. We have known for sometime that this is going to happen but only recently have a date for the work - the end of 2019. We have been raising awareness of this for some time and indeed have raised £150,000 so far towards the total.
We are most grateful all our colleagues at the IWA, especially those at the Show for organising this platform to formally launch our "Tunnel Vision" Appeal. This will be used in press releases, articles and presentations over the next two years. Let us hope that the waterway enthusiasts take heed of the David Suchet Appeal with such strong support from IWA.
