The Lichfield Canal will move a step closer to restoration, with funding of £116,200 secured for work at the Darnford Moors section of the canal.

New Chair announced for LHCRT
We have a new chair after Christine Bull, who has held the role for five years, handed over the reins to Carole Mills.
We held our 32nd. Annual General Meeting as a hybrid in-person and Zoom meeting on 10 June 2022, after a COVID-enforced break of two years. It was wonderful to be back all together but also to offer the option of Zoom for our members across the world.
Two Lichfield Canal Trust volunteers with an age difference of over 70 years have been nominated for Support Staffordshire Awards. Also, a memorial tree dedication, news of our 2023 calendar, and a video about 'The Aqueduct to Nowhere'.

Eric and Doreen Wood's annual fund-raiser for the Trust was last held in 2019, and this year's event was blessed with beautiful sunshine on the hottest day of the year so far. The sale of barbecue meals, cakes, bric-a-brac souvenirs and plants raised around £2,000 for Trust funds.
