Normally our prize draw takes place as part of our autumn social event but this year due to Covid-19 restrictions the show had to be cancelled. .

About 50 people connected for the meeting on 4th September 2020. This is about the same as in previous years for the real meetings but this time we were able to include members from as far away as Australia and the USA.

Following the Prime Minister's address last night and the strong advice
on social distancing and self-isolation in order to minimise the impact
of this virus, we have sadly taken the decision to suspend all work parties until further notice.
Women have always played an integral, if underrated, part in canal onstruction. Traditionally, navvies were men, but women and children could be involved in building tasks too, and women, of course, looked after the home while their men-folk worked.
LHCRT received the Queen's Award For Voluntary Service last year, and the Trust is particularly proud of its record of introducing young people to the benefits of volunteering.
