Picking the Winners
Normally our prize draw takes place as part of our autumn social event but this
year due to Covid-19 restrictions the show had to be cancelled.
It was decided that we should make the draw as soon after the scheduled time as
we could, on the morning of 31st October 2020.
So in possibly the most bizarre
event in the Trust's history we swapped the comfort of Whittington Village Hall
for the shelter of the railway bridge at Fosseway during very heavy rain.
A small group, observing social distance of course, met to draw out the 8
winning tickets.
Since we were unable to sell tickets at events this year our sales were well down on usual but thanks to our dedicated supporters we still managed to sell 2248 tickets raising, after costs, £3512 for Trust funds.
The first prize winner, who is a local man, on being told he had won said "I drove by while you were doing that and I wondered what on earth you were up to!"
Thank you all for your generous support without which we could not function. Tickets for the 2021 draw will be on sale soon. Better luck next time!
