Steve Williams is taking part in the London Marathon to raise money for us! Please support us by sponsoring him.
Steve said:
"I am running the London Marathon 2019 in aid of the Lichfield & Hatherton
Canals Restoration Trust. I have chosen the trust for a number of reasons.
"I 'won' my place in the marathon, courtesy of Lichfield Running Club - where the
late Bob Houghton was such an integral part for many years (I have been
passed some of his legendary marathon training runs to assist me!). Bob was
also a member of the trust and I thought this was a nice way to link two of his
passions.
"Secondly, since retiring, my Dad, Brian Williams, has joined the Trust giving
him a new circle of friends including Bob's widow Janet (as well as the chance
for him to drive a digger, and my Mum some peace at home!).
"Last but not least, the Trust are doing some great work in and around the
Lichfield area restoring the canal. Any donation you could give will be greatly appreciated by the trust, and
motivate me whilst training for and running the marathon!"
The London Marathon is on the 28th April 2019. The main race is at 10:00 am.
